PRODUCTS

Granular Filtration Media
STRAINER
S1
Filtration Media
Strainer 1 (S1)
Standard-flow chromatography filtration media based on natural zeolite/clay chemistry. Coarse granular format for high-flow, low-pressure-drop hydrocarbon systems. Effective color remediation while preserving terpene and cannabinoid profiles. No prep required.

STRAINER
S1M
Filtration Media
Strainer 1 M (S1M)
Medium-flow variant of S1 with a finer granule size engineered for higher-pressure extraction systems. Increased surface area and contact time for more thorough remediation — without the channeling issues of powdered media. Ideal for high-pressure systems.

STRAINER
S2
Filtration Media
Strainer 2 (S2)
Aggressive-grade filtration media with ~1.5x the silica content of S1. Filters a broader range of impurities — the preferred choice for aged biomass, high-moisture material, or extracts requiring heavy color and lipid remediation. Non-reactive and pH neutral throughout.

STRAINER
S2M
Filtration Media
Strainer 2 M (S2M)
The deepest remediation profile in the lineup — combining the aggressive silica chemistry of S2 with the finer granule format of the medium-flow series. Maximum color and impurity removal for the most challenging biomass at high pressure. Superior polish for THCa crystallization.

WHAT CAN
FILTRATION
MEDIA DO?

The right media in the right column at the right stage makes the difference between a good extract and a great one. Our team can help you select and sequence the right products for your specific process and target outcome.

Pesticide RemovalMagSil PR and T-41 are proven for reducing pesticide levels in extracts — critical for compliant, testable product.
Color Remediation (CRC)Activated carbon, silica gel, and T-41 work together in CRC columns to strip unwanted color and produce clear, refined oil.
Heavy Metal ReductionTargeted adsorbents can reduce heavy metal content in extracts — essential for labs operating in regulated markets.
Solvent Drying & Proof-UpMolecular sieve beads (3A, 4A, 10A) remove water from solvents and extracts — keeping your process clean and your solvent reusable.
How CRC Works

MEDIA SELECTION
CHANGES EVERYTHING.

Color remediation column (CRC) technology uses stacked adsorbent media to remove chlorophyll, pigments, pesticide residues, heavy metals, and unwanted lipids from hydrocarbon and ethanol extracts. The type and quantity of media you use determines the final color, clarity, and purity of your concentrate.

Our Strainer S1 is standard-flow granular CRC media suited for high-throughput systems and standard-quality biomass. Strainer S2 contains approximately 1.5× the silica content — more aggressive, better suited for aged, dark, or high-moisture biomass. The M-variants (S1M, S2M) are finer-grain for medium-flow, higher-pressure systems.

All Strainer products are ready-to-use directly from packaging — no pre-baking, pre-drying, or activation required.

Loading Rates & Reuse

HOW MUCH MEDIA
DO YOU NEED?

A general guideline is 150–250 grams per 1 lb of biomass — less for high-grade biomass, more for aged or lower-quality material. Full loading rate tables are available in the TDS sheets for each product.

Most media can be reused across multiple runs, though efficacy decreases with each cycle. Flush with pure solvent between runs to recover yield. Replace when your target output quality is no longer achieved. Consult the SDS for disposal guidance.

Not sure which media stack is right for your process? Our team has hands-on CRC experience — tell us your system, biomass type, and target output and we'll point you in the right direction.
